Christmas Jumper Day

I love the festivity around school today. What fabulous Christmas jumpers that are around.

Thank you to all those children who brought their reading books back this week. I am still missing some children who are not reading at home.

One more week to go and some wonderful Christmas activities left to do. I hope to see lots of faces at the Carol Service on Thursday night. 6:00pm at St Peter's church.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Rawlings

It's Christmas!!!!!!

Christmas time has well and truly started. We have lots of exciting things happening in school at the moment and lots of things coming up next week.

Because the children have all worked so hard in their SAT practise this week, there is NO HOMEWORK this weekend.

However, don;t forget to read and don;t forget your spellings.

I want every reading record on Monday please.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Rawlings

PJ Day!

Everyone looks cozy in their PJ's today! Not sure how much work is actually going to get done, too much sleepiness going around.

Thank you for the donations to our hamper this year. The children in Sycamore are watching the chocolate carefully to ensure I don't eat any! They know me well :)

We had a lovely visit to church this week and the children were exceptional role models for our school! Well done, we are proud of every single one of you!

The count down to Christmas is getting closer and closer. Its all very exciting at this time of year. Watch this space for some festival pictures over the next few weeks.

Also, on a side note, only three children got 10 out of 10 in their spellings this week... Can we please make sure these are being practiced at home. Too many children are not reading on a weekly basis, please encourage your children to pick up a book. It can be any book, let them chose, just sign that they have read something at home in their reading records.

So I definitely forgot to blog last week! Sorry about that!

This week I am running a competition. Any children who come to school and tell me that 'Lions roam the plains of Africa.' Will get a prize. Let's see who is reading the blog.

Next Monday night we are starting a Year 6 maths club for children who have been specifically invited. if your child has not received a letter already don't worry! SAT's club will be open to all from January. But please can you check bags for a letter. they were sent home last night in an envelope address to parents/guardians and we really need the children who have been invited to attend.

Much better homework response this week, although some children have now not read at home for over two weeks. Please can you make sure that your children are reading at least once a week at home. More would be better :)

Miss Rawlings

World War II

Wow! Wasn't that a good class worship! They did a great job of making their own class worship up. I'm so proud of them all. It was nice to see so many parents and to hear that some of you learnt new things too. We certainly seem to have fit a lot into our half term. Only three more school days to go before the holidays.

Spelling test and homework will be on Wednesday next week.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Sorry it's late!

I was on a course yesterday and didn't have chance to blog. I hope you haven;t missed it to much. I took some wonderful photographs of the children doing gymnastics on Tuesday, but they are on the camera at school! I will try and put them up on the blog during the week.

Sycamore Class Worship is on Thursday 19th October at 9:00am

I hope we see lots of you there. The children are excited to share their learning about World War II and they even wrote most of the worship on their own!

I hope you have a lovely weekend and we see lots of faces on Thursday morning.

See you soon
